       Forgetting the World Cup defeat is not such an easy task and then Suryakumar has to lead a young team against the mighty Australia in just 96 hours. He won't have the opportunity for introspection, yet T20 remains his preferred format, and he's prepared to participate in it. Team India, coming off a recent loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup final, is set to engage in a five-match T20 series against Australia starting this Thursday. The first match in Visakhapatnam starts at 7:00 pm and the toss takes place half an hour before 6:30 pm.

As captain of the team, his responsibility is not only to achieve victory but also to identify those players who can feature in next year's ICC T20 World Cup in the West Indies and Americas.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Jitesh Sharma, and Mukesh Kumar are among the players who have debuted internationally in the past few months. 

Their maiden Test match will be against a formidable Australian team featuring accomplished players like opening batsman Travis Head, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, leg-spinner Adam Zampa, and former captain Steve Smith.

In addition, the Australian team also includes players who have performed well in the IPL such as Marcus Stoinis, Tim David  and Nathan Ellis. Despite missing key fast bowlers, the Matthew Wade-led side looks quite very strong. After last year's T-20 World Cup semi-final defeat, the names of captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli  are no longer being considered for the shortest format of the game and in this case, the selectors are considering the series next year. This will aid in readying the team for the impending ICC T20 World Cup draft.

These Indian players have had mediocre attacking performances in the West Indies, Ireland and Asian Games so far. In this case, his real test will be against Australia with the help of bowlers like left-hander Jason Behrendorff  Kane Richardson, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis attack.

Opening race between Ishaan and Yashasvi:-

Interim coach VVS Laxman is looking at the batting order and with Shubman Gill returning for the series against South Africa, India will be spoiled for choice. Ruturaj Gaikwad or Kishan is likely to open the innings along with Jaiswal  .

Suryakumar will come out to bat at number three or four and five. Unlike the ODI team, India's T20 team has many more left-handed players. These include Tilak Verma, Jaiswal, Kishan and all-rounders Akshar Patel and Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey,Washington Sundar.
