The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa started on Sunday (December 17). South African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bat at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. His team was reduced to 116 runs. In reply, Team India won the match by scoring 117 runs in 16.4 overs. India also took a 1-0 lead in the series.

India has taken a significant 1-0 lead in the series by defeating the African team. The second match of the series will be played on December 19 at Gakberah.
India has won an ODI in South Africa after five years. Team India last won at Centurion ground in 2018. After that, there were defeats in three consecutive matches in 2022.
Sudarshan's wonder in the debut match IND vs SA

Shreyas Iyer scored 52 runs on 45 balls. He hit six fours and one six. Ruturaj Gaikwad was out after scoring five runs. Arshdeep and Avesh wreaked havoc in bowling IND vs SA
IND vs SA :-Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan did wonders in bowling for India. Both of them together took nine wickets. Arshdeep got five wickets and Avesh got four wickets. In the second over of the innings itself, Arshdeep Singh took two wickets in two consecutive balls. Arshdeep bowled Reeza Hendricks on the fourth ball of this over. The ball took the outer edge of his bat and hit the wicket. Riza could not even open an account. After this, on the very next ball, Arshdeep got Rassie van der Dussen out LBW. He also could not open an account. Arshdeep missed the chance for a hat-trick. Tony DeGeorge was looking in good touch, but Arshdeep also sent him to the pavilion. Arshdeep got Tony DeGeorge caught by wicketkeeper Rahul. He could score 28 runs in 22 balls. After this, Arshdeep bowled Heinrich Klaasen (6) on the last ball of the 10th over of the innings.

After the havoc of Arshdeep, the deadly bowling of Avesh Khan was seen. Avesh Khan missed a hat-trick in the 11th over of the African innings. He sent Aiden Markram and Vian Mulder to the pavilion on the first two balls. Avesh then got David Miller caught by wicketkeeper Rahul. Miller could score two runs. After this he made Keshav Maharaj (4) his fourth victim. He gave out LBW to Andile Phehlukwayo who was settled on the field. He was out after scoring 33 runs in 49 balls. Whereas, Kuldeep took the last wicket. Avesh could not take five wickets.
